5 Relaxing Ways To Experience Hawaii

Helicopter tour over Kauai

Kauai is perhaps the most geographically unique of Hawaii’s islands. It is home to Waimea Canyon, the Na Pali Coast, and Mount Waialeale. Because of the diversity in Kauai’s landscapes as well as its lush greenery, it is nicknamed the Garden Isle.

Relax on the beaches

Hawaii is famous for surfing but if you are looking for an even more relaxing activity, a day spent frolicking on the beach can be both fun and refreshing. There are hundreds of beaches that are perfect for this kind of activity but the best beaches for this are the Lanikai beach on Oahu, Hanalei Bay Beach on Kauai, and Black Rock Beach on Maui. Each beach has something special to offer. Lanikai is considered by local Hawaiians to be the best beach for swimming because of its snow-white colored sand, crystal clear water and wide surface area. Hanalei Bay is the largest bay in Kauai and is quite possibly the most beautiful spot in all of Hawaii. The beach in Hanalei Bay is also filled with perfectly white sand but what makes it truly special is that if you manage to tear your eyes off of the ocean scene and look behind you, you will be greeted by breathtaking waterfalls and bright green mountain peaks.  The Black Rock Beach of Maui is also known as Keka’a Beach, Canoe Beach and Dig Me Beach. Black Rock is a haven for watersports lovers due to numerous rental stores and the inviting geography of the beach. Because of this, Black Rock Beach may be the best place to snorkel and scuba dive.

Watch whales from a catamaran

Every winter Humpback whales migrate from Alaska down past Hawaii. During this time whale watching catamaran cruises can be booked on the islands of Oahu, Maui, Kauai and Hawaii’s Big Island.

Visit Waimea Canyon on Kauai

This beautiful canyon is often described as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. The canyon is not as big or old as the Grand Canyon, of course, but many would argue that it is much more beautiful. The canyon is full of beautiful waterfalls and hiking trails and can be explored conveniently atop a rented ATV.

Play a round of golf

There are dozens of challenging and visually beautiful golf courses throughout Hawaii’s islands but the best place to go for a round of golf is Kauai. Kauai is home to the Poipu Bay Golf Course and the Princeville Course. The Poipu Bay Golf Course, which hosted the PGA Grand Slam of Golf for 13 consecutive years, is like no other golf course in the world. The course was designed by renowned architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. and will challenge every aspect of your golf game during its 18-holes. The Princeville Course was also designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and has consistently been voted the number 1 golf course in Hawaii as well as a top course in America and the world by Golf Digest.
