Me Time Activities For Moms

Those precious moments that a mother gets to herself are all too often spent wondering what you should do. Having some ideas and the supplies ahead of time means you can truly enjoy your “me time” and make it worth while. Here are a few ideas to get you started.

Read a Book
If you have an hour or two, it’s well worth it to settle in a comfy chair with a cup of tea and that book you’ve been meaning to read. A recent edition of a magazine that you haven’t had a chance to read is another good way to spend some time.

Do Something Artistic
Whether you enjoy painting, drawing or sculpting, spending some time doing something creative is a balm for the soul. You will find that it is so much easier to be a good mother when you have had a chance to get that creativity out. If you don’t have a particular creative outlet that you enjoy, consider picking up a new hobby.

Try Beading
Beads are simple when on their own, but put them all together in a bracelet or necklace and you will find that they are quite lovely. This is a wonderful way to create something beautiful and to enjoy your free time, too.

Quilting can be a nice relaxing pastime that you can do when the kids are asleep. Starting with a fairly simple pattern will help you learn quickly and the actual quilting, sewing the top and bottom of the quilttogether to keep the batting in place, is enjoyable and can be done while listening to music or keeping an eye on a child doing homework. There are plenty of stitches to learn, as well, once you’ve moved beyond the basics.

Enjoy some time stretching out the kinks and you won’t regret it. You can either take a class or enjoy a video tutorial. With a number of different types of yoga available, you should be able to find something you enjoy. As an added bonus, you will be boosting flexibility and increasing your fitness level. Every mom should take some time to get back in the groove and look after herself.

Whether you choose to take a nap or take up quilting for your child free time, make sure it truly is “me time” and do something you enjoy. Learn more about quilting kits here.
